New life here at ODF is always a cause for celebration. Many of you may know that we lost our youngest, Brendan, after a long battle with leukemia in 2013. After his death, I was devastated, lost, depressed, really devoid of hope. At that time, we had a few dogs and a few horses. They were my lifeline (along with my husband and other wonderful kids). One day, I heard a little voice “Mom, why don’t you get sheep?” SHEEP??? What did I know about sheep? Nothing…But that was the beginning of Open Door Farm. So, new life is always celebrated. Because all new life is a spark of hope. So, these beautiful, wonderful, amazing 3 chicks are my reason to celebrate today!
